Medal of Distinction Award

Presented to an individual who, through individual action or initiative, has made a significant and lasting contribution to the healthcare security, safety, and/or risk management professions.

Medal of Distinction Nomination Application

Nomination submissions should include documentation attesting to the action or initiative attributed solely to the nominee:

  • Copies of all correspondence including, but not limited to, internal incident reports, administrative reports, witness statements, unsolicited letters from unbiased sources, copies of external agency reports (i.e., law enforcement, fire and/or emergency medical services responders) and media articles
  • Documentation clearly defining sound judgement, initiative, abilities, and use of learned skills
  • A curriculum vitae of the nominee to include professional, educational, and career accomplishments

The Nomination Committee will evaluate and consider, among other factors, whether the action or initiative attributed solely to the nominee made a significant and lasting contribution to the healthcare security, safety, and/or risk management professions. Should more than one nomination for separate acts or initiatives be submitted, the Nomination Review Committee may recognize more than one recipient for the Medal of Distinction.
